Zrobiłem sobie małą przerwę od malowania Thrullga by zrelaksować się przy eksperymentach z kolorystyką bazową dwóch głównych jednostek w mojej armii krokodylków - Gatormen Posse oraz Bog-Throgg Ambushers. Oczywiście są to początki, ale solidnie określają to, w jakim kierunku chce poszczególne jednostki zabrać... Podobają mi się standardowe schematy kolorystyczne, więc Bogusie będą żółtawo-rdzawe, ale poszczególne muskuły podkreślę purpurowym cieniem a rozjaśnienie kościanym, by wyrobić lepszą definicję. Gatormen to osiągnięcie! Nie wygląda spektakularnie, ale zajął mi całe 15 minut, a to wielki postęp w szybkim malowaniu - jak mam w planie zrobić takich 15, to taka szybka metoda na pewno się przyda - oczywiście glazeowanie różnymi tonami nadal potrzebne, ale ogólny schemat wygląda w porządku i jest szybki i bezproblemowy. Thrullg na ostatek też dostał kilka nowych kolorków na klacie, a drybrush zostanie zmiękczony washami. Będzie ładnie.
I made myself a little brake from painting Thrullg to relax by experimenting with the basic colors for the main units of my gatormens army - Gatormen Posse and Bog-Throgg Ambushers. Of course, this are just the very beginnings, but you can already see in what direction I want to take this units... I really like the standard color scheme promoted by the publisher, so the Bogs stay yellowish-rusty, but the muscles will be undershaded with soft purple washes and highlighted with a creamy, bony color to really make a proper definition of the sculpt. Gatormen is an achievement! It's hardly spectacular, but I managed to achieve such an effect in about 15 minutes, which is a big step for me in speed painting - and since I play to paint at least 15 of them, this method will come in handy - of course lots of glazing with different hues still awaits it, but the scheme is quick and effortless to paint. Thrullg got some lovin' in the end as well, as I added some basic color transistion to his chest, planning to soften the drybrush with washes. It will work just fine.
